Location: See reservation ticket for location

This one-hour walking tour takes guests through the stable and carriage facilities and introduces them to the rare breeds conservancy program operated by Colonial Williamsburg. Guests will view the facilities, see some of the animals, and view the various carriages and vehicles owned and operated onsite. Discussion of animal treatment, training, equipment use, and the Coach and Livestock operation is ongoing throughout the tour. This experience includes some hands-on activities, such as trying out a sidesaddle or inspecting a horse's hoof.

Children must be accompanied by an adult. Space is limited.

Available to Annual Pass, Good Neighbor, and Hotel Guest Pass holders only. Free reservation required.

An American Bully - JJang aka 'JJ' video. JJ was given up at The Harbor Animal Control shelter in San Pedro, CA, by his young owner, after having to move in with his sister; she refused to allow him to keep his dog. Lots of tears were shed having to abandon his loyal buddy and we promised him we'd save JJ's life and hopefully find him a new Daddy and new home. JJ is 6-years-old and is solid, and compact weighing in at 48 lbs. He has a typical loving American Bully attitude and adores humans. He's working on his dog socialization skills in boarding, and he tries really hard and just wants to please. Eventually he should be fine with all dogs. He's medium energy and also makes a great couch potato. JJ is housebroken, healthy, neutered, chipped and current on vaccines. New litters have arrived! Canadian Guide Dogs for the Blind is pleased to announce the birth of our latest litters of puppies. Within several weeks, these puppies will require foster homes to learn what it takes to become a 'good dog' before entering formal training to become guide dogs or assistance dogs to help someone in need. Canadian Guide Dogs for the Blind is seeking foster families for our latest arrivals. You must be home most of the day or obtain permission to take the dog to work with you. You require access to a vehicle for veterinary appointments and training sessions. All food and veterinary expenses are provided. This is a 12-18 month commitment, raising and training the dog in your home, with the expectation for daily long walks in all conditions. When the dog is ready to enter into formal training at the National Training Centre of Canadian Guide Dogs for the Blind in Manotick, you must be prepared to give up the dog, so that it may continue its journey as a guide dog or assistance dog. The next information session for this program will be held Friday, February 24, 2012. Additional information sessions will be held on March 9 and March 23, 2012.
